A workshop for the members of the Pan-Africa Bean Research Alliance (PABRA) was held at Novotel Mount Meru, Arusha, Tanzania from 28 May to 1 June 2001. This workshop was held as a celebration of what was achieved within PABRA in the previous ten years, of the benefits of good science for development, and above all, of the impact on hundreds of thousands of lives in central, eastern and southern Africa.
