CIAT's Library is compiling annual lists of journal articles published by CIAT scientists. All articles included in the 2005 list can also be accessed via CIAT’s Library Catalog. Some of the articles listed have a link to the full text, either because they have been published in an open access journal or because the Library has requested and obtained the publishing permission from the publisher.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is pleased to announce on behalf of the Information Management Resource Kit (IMARK) Steering Group, the release of the Spanish language version of the IMARK E-learning module "Management of Electronic Documents". This module deals with the collection, archiving, management and dissemination of electronic documents and associated images. The International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) worked with FAO on the adaptation of the module into Spanish. This, and all IMARK modules, are available at no-cost either through the IMARK website www.imarkgroup.org or on CD-ROM upon request. Learners are encouraged to register and select a course. 

IMARK modules are being developed by a wide range of experts and are based on the use of appropriate and cost-effective technologies. The modules are delivered in an interactive self-paced learning environment, using dynamic screens and illustrated step-by-step instructions and exercises. The modules provide learners with immediate access to customized help, search and glossary facilities, as well as cases studies which demonstrate real life applications of the concepts and procedures being taught.

IMARK now has over 30 partners and collaborating institutions since its inception in 2001, and its activities are coordinated through a Steering Group whose members are: the Association for Progressive Communications (APC), FAO, the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), the Centre de coopération internationale en recherche agronomique pour le développement (Cirad), the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation ACP-EU (CTA) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
