About Cali

Sebastián de Belalcazar founded Cali in 1536. It is a progressive and civic city, internationally known for its industrial, sporting, cultural, and commercial characteristics, and for the kindness of its people, the beauty of its women, and its intensive nightlife. Santiago de Cali is a pioneer city in popular recreation in the Latin American area, and you may find many places of cultural and touristic interest.

"Federico Carlos Lehmann Valencia" Natural Science Museum

Open Mondays through Fridays, 8:00 am to 12:30 m and from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. It has a collection of 700 pieces, which represent all the fauna existing in Valle del Cauca, an archeological exhibition, ethnological samples, a room of snails and mollusks, and a room showing insects from southwestern Colombia.

La Tertulia Modern Art Museum

El Paraiso Ranch: A historical site

Located 36 km north of Cali, setting of the important novel "Maria", written by Jorge Isaacs. It was built at the beginning of last century. Open Tuesdays through Sundays, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
